Restock Engine
Restock software that decides when, how much, and whether to buy
A reorder suggestion is only useful if it reflects how your products really sell and how long your supply chain really takes. Here is how Zeroth's Restock Engine builds each suggestion, what you can tune, and how it turns approved buys into purchase orders.
Sales velocity
Velocity that doesn't shrink after a stockout
When a SKU runs out, its sales drop to zero, and simple restock math reads that as falling demand. Zeroth corrects for days you were out of stock, within a limit, so one short in-stock streak can't inflate an order either.
Pick how velocity is measured
Use a single sales window, from 7 to 180 days, or a weighted blend of short and long windows. Set the weights for the store and override them for individual products.
Stockout correction you can see
Stockout correction is on by default and can be turned off. Restock can show the adjusted velocity next to the raw one.
Warnings instead of guesses
Zeroth flags SKUs that spent much of the last month out of stock, and says so when order history is too short for the rule you chose.
Every channel counted
FBA and FBM SKUs are planned separately, each against the stock that can actually serve that channel.
Lead time
Lead time the way your supply chain actually runs
For an FBA product, the clock doesn't stop when your supplier ships. Zeroth adds the time it takes to prep the units and get them checked in at Amazon before it decides how much cover you need.
Settings cascade from the store to the supplier to the product, so you set sensible defaults once and override only where a product is different.
- Supplier lead timeDays from placing an order to receiving it. Set it per supplier, with a store default for products without one.
- FBA prep timeDays to prep and pack units after they arrive.
- Inbound transitDays from shipping to Amazon until the units are available to sell.
- Buffer and target coverExtra days for delays, plus the minimum and maximum days of stock you want on hand, per store or per supplier.
Supply
It counts every unit you already have
Before suggesting a purchase, Zeroth adds up stock in every place it could come from, so you don't buy units that are already on the way.
When an FBA product already has units in your own warehouse, Zeroth suggests how many to send to Amazon before you reorder from the supplier.
At Amazon
Sellable FBA inventory, units inbound to Amazon, and units Amazon is moving between fulfillment centers.
In your hands
Units in your warehouse or prep center and your FBM stock.
On order
Units on open purchase orders that haven't arrived yet.
One status per SKU
Out of stock, Critical, Low, Warning, or Healthy, based on days of cover against your targets.
Order quantities
Quantities your supplier will accept
A suggestion you have to rework by hand isn't finished. Zeroth applies each product's minimum order quantity and, for products bought in cases, rounds to whole cases.
Choose whether case packs round up, round down, or stay exact, for the whole store or per supplier. If rounding down would leave you short of what the forecast needs, the suggestion says so.
Buy, Review, or Hold
A profit check before every purchase
Selling out isn't the only risk. Buying stock that won't make money is just as expensive. Each suggestion with a quantity carries a verdict, with the reasons behind it.
Buy
Margin, ROI, competition, and Buy Box share all clear Zeroth's purchase guardrails, using current competition data and a confident price.
Review
Something needs a person: a missing product cost, missing or stale competition data, or a price the repricer isn't confident in.
Hold
Unprofitable at today's price, margin or ROI too thin, too many competing offers, too little Buy Box share, or a price floor the repricer shouldn't chase.
Purchase orders
From suggestion to purchase order without leaving Zeroth
Suggestions are grouped by supplier, with reorder quantity, value, total cases, and total weight, alongside each supplier's free-freight minimum. Add the buys to an existing draft PO or create purchase orders for several suppliers at once.
Bundles, multipacks, and master SKUs allocate demand back to their components. Products without a supplier are listed as unassigned, so nothing quietly drops out of the plan.
Questions
Common questions
- Does it work for FBM products?
- Yes. FBM SKUs are planned against your own stock and supplier lead time. FBA SKUs also include prep time and inbound transit to Amazon.
- What if I don't know a supplier's lead time?
- Zeroth uses the store's default supplier lead time until you set one for that supplier or product.
- Can different suppliers have different targets?
- Yes. Target days of cover and case-pack rounding can be set per supplier, and lead times can be overridden per product.
- What happens if a SKU was out of stock for most of last month?
- Zeroth corrects its velocity for the days it was out of stock, within a limit, and flags it so you can review the suggestion.
- Is restock included in every plan?
- Yes. Restock forecasting and purchase orders are included in every Zeroth plan.
