FBA shipments
FBA shipments, from first draft to the last unit received
Zeroth runs the whole inbound workflow in one place: build the shipment, check it against Amazon's requirements, pack and label it, book transportation, and see exactly what Amazon checked in. Here is each stage in detail.
Drafts
Start from what you already planned
Build a draft straight from a purchase order or from inventory you already hold. Zeroth keeps the link to the source PO, so receiving later reconciles against what you bought.
Amazon requires hazmat units to ship separately. A draft that mixes the two can't be planned, and one click moves the hazmat lines into their own draft.
Merge drafts
Combine drafts into one. Duplicate products have their quantities combined, and preparation, packing, and PO history is preserved.
Expiration dates
Dated products carry their expiration dates through packing and onto their labels.
Bundles and master SKUs
Components are allocated from your warehouse inventory, with shortages shown before you commit.
Checks before submission
Product eligibility, ship-from address, expiration dates, and other Amazon issues are checked before the plan goes to Amazon.
Placement
Compare Amazon's placement options before you commit
When the draft is ready, Zeroth creates the inbound plan with Amazon and confirms preparation requirements for each product.
Amazon then offers placement options: different splits across fulfillment centers, each with its own placement fee. Zeroth lays them side by side, including what each option saves compared with the most expensive one, so the trade-off between fees and splitting your inventory is clear.
Packing & labels
Pack once. Let the box tell Amazon what's inside.
Every FBA carton needs box content information. Zeroth records contents as you pack and generates 2D box barcodes from the pack session, so the label on the carton matches what went in it.
Before you ship, Zeroth shows how Amazon will receive each shipment and warns you if packing changed after the box contents were sent.
Multi-SKU and case-packed boxes
Pack mixed cartons, or define case packs once and let Zeroth build the boxes.
Weight checks as you pack
Box weights are checked against Amazon's small-parcel limit while you pack, not at the dock.
Saved box sizes
Store your standard carton dimensions and reuse them in every shipment.
Labels your way
Box, pallet, and FNSKU labels in the sizes and content you choose, with labels for several shipments combined into one PDF.
Transportation
Partnered carrier or your own, side by side
Choose small parcel or freight, then compare the transportation Amazon offers with arranging your own. Zeroth handles the steps Amazon requires for each path.
- Choose the modeSmall parcel, LTL for a few pallets sharing a truck, or FTL for a dedicated truck.
- Compare carriersAmazon Partnered Carriers and Amazon Freight quotes next to your own carrier. Expired quotes are flagged for refresh.
- Pick datesChoose a pickup date and confirm a delivery window when Amazon requires one.
- Confirm and printConfirm transportation, download labels, and see how long you have left to void partnered labels.
- Add trackingFor your own carrier, enter the tracking number, or the PRO and Bill of Lading numbers for freight.
Receiving
See exactly what Amazon checked in
After a shipment leaves, Zeroth follows it through Amazon's statuses to closed and compares what you planned with what Amazon received, SKU by SKU, in units and in dollars.
Discrepancies are listed per product, along with the carrier, documents, box, pallet, and tracking history behind the shipment. That gives you a precise record if you need to follow up with Amazon.
Questions
Common questions
- What is a 2D box barcode?
- A barcode on the carton that carries its contents, including each FNSKU, quantity, and expiration date where needed. Amazon reads the whole box in one scan instead of relying on contents typed into Seller Central.
- Can I put several SKUs in one box?
- Yes. Multi-SKU cartons are packed and labeled the same way as single-SKU boxes.
- Do I have to use Amazon's partnered carriers?
- No. You can book through Amazon or use your own carrier and add the tracking details in Zeroth.
- Can I edit a shipment after it's planned with Amazon?
- Some changes after planning require Amazon's involvement. Zeroth warns you before you plan, and lets you cancel the Amazon plan to edit items when that's allowed.
- Are shipments included in every plan?
- Yes. Shipments with 2D box labels are included in every Zeroth plan.
